Come visit the ArtSpace Herndon Gallery and enjoy the work of many artists at the 2008 Paint Herndon Plein Air Competition. This light hearted event is fun for artists and art lovers. For added fun, visit the Herndon Jazz and Wine festival next door on the town green behind the municipal building on Labor Day September 1st.

Plein Air Painting Weekend
Beginning Friday morning, you'll find artists painting at sites in and around the town of Herndon. Stop by and watch their artwork emerge. How many can you find?
Saturday (Aug 30) - Sunday (Aug 31)
Sneak Preview
10am - 5pm: Exhibit at ArtSpace Herndon Gallery: Come enjoy a gallery exhibit of artwork by selected artists while they are out in the field creating new paintings for the competition.
Monday (Sept 1) Labor Day
"The Reveal" Exhibit
11am - 9pm: Be the first to see fresh new competition paintings and award winning artwork at the ArtSpace Herndon Gallery.
11am - 3pm:
Quick Sketch Competition.
Paint, Draw, Watch, Buy Art and Have Fun!
Artists can arrive at the Old Town Hall Green at 11:00am to enter ($10), get your canvases stamped and begin painting. Paint, draw and create new artwork for 3.5 hours. Then, display your artwork (remember to bring your easel or stand) on the Old Town Hall Green *before* 3:00pm. Quick Sketch prizes will be awarded for the best open air paintings and youth art.
Awards Night!
6pm - 9pm: During this exciting event at ArtSpace Herndon Gallery, award winning artists will be announced and win over $2000 in prizes donated by Coldwell Banker of Reston VA. This is a great opportunity meet all of the artists in person at the weekend finale.
