May 20 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

We are proud to present the music of Kevin Elam & Sean Heely! Both are accomplished musicians that will be bringing their wonderful traditional Scottish and Irish fiddle tunes to ArtSpace!

Kevin Elam studied classical piano throughout his childhood and into high school. He has a BM in Music from George Mason University, where he studied jazz piano with the phenomenal Wade Beach. Kevin also loves Irish traditional music. He plays the guitar, mandolin, banjo, and whistle in the recently-formed R.E.D. Folk Collective.

Multi-Genre violinist/fiddler Seán Heely is rapidly emerging as one of the most creatively versatile and captivating young artists of his generation. Seán is equally at home with a large variety of musical genres which include: Classical, Scottish, Irish, Bluegrass, and Gypsy Swing. He is a U.S National Scottish Fiddle Champion as well as an award winning Irish Fiddler and has given workshops and classes at camps such as Acadia Trad School where Seán joins a world class faculty of teachers/performers in June 2017. Along with his accolades in Traditional Music, Seán made his Classical solo debut with the Virginia Symphony in February 2012 performing Mozart’s 5th Violin Concerto. A composer and arranger, Seán has won national awards including the 2016 Scottish Fiddling Revival’s Tune writing competition. In April 2017, Seán was a featured soloist with the Virginia International Tattoo in Norfolk, VA. Seán holds a degree from University of South Carolina in Classical Violin Performance.
